  225. These procedures may be used to map and unmap windows
  226. managed by Tk.  \fBTk_MapWindow\fR maps the window given
  227. by \fItkwin\fR, and also creates an X window corresponding
  228. to \fItkwin\fR if it doesn't already exist.  See the
  229. \fBTk_CreateMainWindow\fR manual entry for information on
  230. deferred window creation.
  231. \fBTk_UnmapWindow\fR unmaps \fItkwin\fR's window
  232. from the screen.

  234. If \fItkwin\fR is a child window (i.e. \fBTk_CreateChildWindow\fR was
  235. used to create it), then event handlers interested in map and unmap events
  236. are invoked immediately.  If \fItkwin\fR isn't an internal window,
  237. then the event handlers will be invoked later, after X has seen
  238. the request and returned an event for it.

  240. These procedures should be used in place of the X procedures
  241. \fBXMapWindow\fR and \fBXUnmapWindow\fR, since they update
  242. Tk's local data structure for \fItkwin\fR.  Applications
  243. using Tk should not invoke \fBXMapWindow\fR and \fBXUnmapWindow\fR
  244. directly.
